British Tv Dramas
British Tv dramas varey from a wide range of different genre. These include your typical Sci-fi dramas, such as Dr.Who, to your more heart pounding crime dramas such as the Bill. Each genre follows their own set of codes and conventions. If you take Eastendrs for example you will notice that most relationships dont last more then a few month. This is for the simple fact that if everyone played happy familys there would be nothink interesting to watch. If you compare a teen soap like Skins and compare it to a programme like Heartbeat which is a family drama you will notice the difference in language. Were Skins is a teen soap the language used needs to relate to modernday teenages. This also goes for costumes and characters. Were heartbeat is more of a family drama so the laguage used will be more appropriate for a family audience. You will also notice that in dramtic dramas such as Holby the camera angles used build tension and create atmosphere. You will notice more close up's,long shots and many other camera angles.
